Jim Campbell

“His set is rich with beautifully phrased jokes and observations, with classy lines on everything from Casper the Friendly Ghost to Peaches Geldof to Lynx deodorant, and it’s hard to imagine a subject he couldn’t come up with an original and literate joke about...an impressive routine, delivered with confidence and insightful wit.” – Chortle.

Jim Campbell is an Essex-born stand up now based in East London. He has been performing for almost three years and has reached the competition finals of So You Think You’re Funny, The Amused Moose Laugh Off, Durex One Night Stand Up and The Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year, in which he was the runner up.

He regularly gigs at venues such as The Comedy Store, The Comedy Cafe (having previously won the New Act Night twice, each time with different material), Just the Tonic, Amused Moose Soho, Downstairs at the King’s Head and The Hob, among others. He regularly gigs up and down the country for CKP and Mirth Control and has appeared at the previous two Edinburgh Fringe festivals, performing over 70 gigs at the 2010 festival.

As well as performing stand up he is also a writer, writing in partnership with Hannah George, herself a stand up and writer.

He also co-presents the popular podcast The Football Ramble. The show has regularly topped the iTunes charts and won seven awards, with Jim himself being nominated for the award of Best Contributor to a Blog or Podcast at the 2010 NOPA Awards. He writes a regular column on www.thefootballramble.com, has scripted video content for the site and has appeared on ESPN’s Talk of the Terrace and Sky News.
