Jim Campbell

Jim Campbell tells hyperbolic tales of his life in Essex and East London and makes demented observations on the world as he sees it in his energetic sets. Varied and satirical, his quick-fire delivery has led to him being described as “a rip-roaring raconteur with some very strange ideas”.

He recently came second in the Leicester Square Theatre New Act of the Year competition and also reached the finals of both So You Think You’re Funny and the Amused Moose Laugh Off competitions at the Edinburgh Festival in 2009. He appeared in the Amused Moose Hot Starlets show at the Edinburgh Fringe in the same year and has beaten the gong at King Gong at The Comedy Store.

He co-runs Comedy 2.0, the Time Out recommended London based comedy night at which he also performs sketches and improv.

Jim is also a presenter on the iTunes chart-topping podcast The Football Ramble, which has featured in The Guardian, The London Paper, Four Four Two magazine, Football Punk magazine and been featured on Sky News, with Jim appearing as a pundit.

From the Chortle review of SYTYF 2009:
“Jim Campbell injected another much-needed dose of vibrancy into the gig, with a flamboyant, campish performance slightly reminiscent of fellow Essex boy Russell Brand. Dissing the lion’s nickname as ‘king of the jungle’ produced the biggest laugh in his spirited set, while witty asides and afterthoughts sparkled... There’s definitely potential here.”

"A charming and very funny bloke with lots of jokes, and he’s got a great head of hair!" – Patrick Monahan.
