So You Think You're Funny 2008 - Semi-Finalist LAUGHING HORSE COMPETITION 2008 QUARTER FINALIST “a powerful and oddly emotionally-moving performance as monotoned bitter Cockney Connie” – Fringe Report Best Actress Award in Sitcom Trials 2007. Jessica has been performing improvised comedy and as a comedy actress since 2005. She is currently hitting the London stand up circuit like a thunderbolt of joy. She has performed character comedy and as herself at ‘Crash Test Comedy’, ‘Comedy on a School Night’, ‘Best of the Fest 2007’ and ‘2 Minute Wonder’. She has improvised with ‘Mixt Nutz’ and now performs long and short form with ‘The Institute’ (resident impro company at London’s Canal Café Theatre) every first and third Wednesday, where she also compares. TV work includes performing in ‘Hallo Panda’, a short Channel 4 Film by Charlie Productions. In the last year she has performed in News Revue 2007, Shakespeare For Breakfast (Edinburgh and London), Frosty the Snowman and in the Sitcom Trials. Jessica regularly writes for News Revue. Jessica wrote and played the lead in ‘Troublehug’ - a series of sketches that were short-listed to win BBC Comedy Soup 2006. One of these sketches was used by BBC3 at Edinburgh 2006. Jessica reached the final of the Sitcom Trials 2007, playing Connie in ‘The Good Guide’, written by Sara Pascoe. |
