"A material machine knocking out a brand new killer set every time he comperes" - Kent and Sussex Courier
"A Frank Skinner for the home counties with a cracking 'Mock The Week' audition piece; crude, rude but spot on"
"A warm, engaging and funny compere. Always a pleasure to work with him" Lucy Porter
Leaving The Army as a Corporal in The Royal Corps of Signals in the mid 90's, Stephen started on the open mic circuit to run alongside his acting endeavours. Moving back to his home town of Tunbridge Wells acting took a front seat after a number of die-on-his-arse gigs. Returning to stand up proper in 2007 with a in-at-the-deep-end support slot at the 900 seater Assembly Hall he was booked for a paid slot at the 'Therapy Room' comedy club in Tunbridge Wells. After one gig he was asked to be the permanent compere and which he remains, delivering a brand new set every show. The Therapy Room is fast becoming a sought after venue and Stephen has recently compered for Lucy Porter, Michael Fabbri, Carey Marx and Glenn Wool with Robin Ince booked for September 09. http://therapyroomcomedy.blogspot.com/
As you might expect from an ex squaddie Stephen's material covers his time in 'green' to him being voted runner up in the West Kent Bruce Willis lookalike competition 2002 through to internet dating and the horrors of provincial night clubs. He does gig elsewhere!
