Sarah Bennetto is a stand-up comic from Melbourne, Australia, now living and performing in the UK. She has appeared on stage, radio and television as a stand-up comic and presenter, and is responsible for experimental comedy collective Storytellers' Club. Back in 2002, Sarah won a Victorian heat of Australia's national comedy search, Raw Comedy, and also had her own regular show for Laugh Radio. She was an original member of Melbourne's hit impro troupe, The Crew, and their weekly show Impro Sundae. Live recordings of Sarah's comedy were commissioned by the Austereo Network, to be broadcast nationally. Since living in London, she's appeared on Xfm, Resonance FM, Festival FM, Vox Radio, BBC 6 Music with Stephen Merchant, and hosts a radio show for WorthyFM, live from the Glastonbury Music Festival. She is booked as a indie club DJ and freelance music journalist. When in Melbourne, Sarah hosts a late-night radio show on Triple R. On Thursday nights since early 2011, Sarah Bennetto’s Mix-Tape has become a much-loved late-night show on Dalston’s NTS Radio in London. Sarah has performed stand-up comedy as part of the Edinburgh Fringe every year since 2002. Her appearances in 2005's Amused Moose Hot Starlets at The Pleasance, Edinburgh and later London's Bloomsbury Theatre received positive reviews, tipping her for an exciting future as a writer and performer. After her promising start in industry compilation shows, Sarah then returned to Edinburgh Fringe with her own comedy storytelling club, and later graduated to her own solo stand-up debut, ‘Sarah Bennetto is Lucky’ in 2009. Her sophomore show was The King & I: stand-up comedy based around a true tale of accidentally winding up at dinner with Prince Charles in the Palace. Sarah has also appeared at several Melbourne Comedy Festivals with her feature-length solo stand-up shows, and her cult comedy collective Storytellers’ Club (which exploded onto the scene in 2006 with a cavalcade of special internationally-famous comedy guests telling tales by a faux log fireplace). Sarah has hosted Storytellers’ Club and performed stand-up comedy at Latitude Festival, London Word Festival, Machynlleth Comedy Festival, BAC Festival, Leeds Comedy Festival, King’s Place, No Direction Home Festival, The Pleasance Islington and has performed to a packed comedy pavilion at the picturesque End of the Road Festival every year since it began in 2006. Back in the UK, Sarah appeared on ITV's Take The Mic, Dara O’Briain’s School of Hard Sums, and has acted in numerous comedy friends' films & TV pilots. For three years, Sarah hosted an interactive music TV show on SkyTV's Soundtrack Channel. This garnered a cult following of devoted night owls. Sarah has made paid TV and radio pilots, including shows for Brown-Eyed Boy, Freemantle Media and BBC 6 Music. Sarah Bennetto continues to tour the live UK comedy circuit, with full-length stand-up sets at some of the nation’s top clubs and theatres. She is in demand as an experienced compere and special guest on chat shows. In 2014, she appears in Adelaide courtesy of Sydney’s Wit Large. Shows: 2006-2014: Storytellers’ Club – The Pleasance Edinburgh Fringe and London, King’s Place London, BAC London, Comedy Café London, Latitude Festival, End of the Road Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe & touring festivals internationally. Press quotes: “She succeeds because she is such a skilful raconteur, not only coaxing big laughs, but also those moments of poignancy and inspiration to which so many performers don’t even get close.”★★★★– Three Weeks, Edinburgh "Sarah Bennetto is a storyteller par excellence" - Time Out, London “Sarah Bennetto is a winner. Holidays, cash, a car, concert tickets, and now she can add a corker of a comedy festival show to her list.”– Australian Comedy Review “The undeniable star of the show is the scintillating storyteller, Sarah Bennetto. Her stories and anecdotes are particularly funny.”★★★★– Broadway Baby “A flawlessly delivered performance by Sarah Bennetto and friends, in this glimpse into the world of office temps. It all resonates so truly and is presented in such a palpable manner that the audience are laughing and nodding their heads for the full hour. The show is lifted to another level as a sub-plot develops, spinning the whole stereotype on its head and leaving only positives for the disillusioned temps. Each cast member convincingly adopts their characters, and the audience connects with them all immediately. A very talented group of people who have brought this idea to life with their energy, humour and likeability. Highly recommended to anyone who’s ever worked in an office!”★★★★– Scotsgay “The Temps is a fast-paced, laugh-packed and pleasingly loose affair, with spots of improv and audience interaction along the way. A hugely promising dramatic debut from Bennetto”. ★★★★ – British Comedy Guide “A lovely warm, deeply insincere, welcome from the stars of Sarah Bennetto’s new comedy hints at a lunchtime special ahead. Bennetto (first day temp) and Celia Pacquola (backstabbing office bitch) are both superb. Devastating. ‘The Temps’ edges towards perfection.”★★★★– Three Weeks, Edinburgh
