Rob Riley

"Commited vegetarian, firearms enthusiast, Buddhist and an ex-convict? That'll be a career in stand up then, Robert." Had Rob "The Gob" Riley had the benefit of a careers advisor in his early thirties you would imagine that s pretty much how the conversation would have gone. Having started on the circuit in 2002, Riley now tours the country in Fatima, his trusty Nissan Micra.

Initially, a dark humour drove his set with a multitude of sacred cows kicked squarely on all four shins. Beneath that twisted material a certain intelligence shone through and the last year or two has seen this come to the fore…

"Imagine the odd pearl of wisdom floating in a bucket of sick filth, served on very thin ice and you should begin to get the picture."

used to be a fair synopsis but, as both act and bloke mature material is more specific to the given room. Never afraid to come off the script Rob is partial to a bit of MCing and is regular comperes at the legendary Off The Rails Comedy Club in Saddleworth. So, in short, book the bugger and see for yourself…

Rob Riley. More fun than flossing your teeth with Rick Wallers' arse hair. And that's a promise!

Press
"Rob Riley was up next and produced a completely sound set with perfect timing, getting a reaction every time with routines on stereotyping, and some slightly sick material subtly and deceptively delivered". City Life

"well crafted gags and flawless delivery" Frog and Bucket

"Next up was Rob Riley, a last minute replacement for an act who didn't show up. And it probably worked out for the best as he had an outstanding gig." XS Malarkey

" a cracking warm up from compare Rob "the Gob" Reily,", DeBees Music Bar,
Winsford.

" There was quite a bit of current affairs and topical material, and some very good punchlines in there. The delivery and timing were spot on as well, which helped the impact of the gags a lot. Great stuff, and can't really be faulted on anything." XS Malarkey

"A likeable and confident stage presence combined with some great punchlines including some fairly near the knuckle stuff, which was great. I reckon Rob is going to be one of the new generation of Manchester comics who are starting to go places." XS Malarkey

He's also from Oldham and very funny and I have spent the last 2 hours scouring Google to try to find out his name. No luck though - but he was good, trust me..."www.grinreaper.co.uk (It was me! Honest!)

"depressingly boring stuff… an untimately unfulfilling set." Steve Bennett, Chortle.
