Mary Ellis

Mary’s first comedy success was in the 1970’s, when two of her jokes were published in Cor!! comic. Now the applause has finally faded (and she’s burnt through the £3 fee), she is ready with new material as a stand-up comedian with a warm, wry, self-deprecating take on losing her job, growing older and still being in her pyjamas at lunchtime. 

Gigs
Mary’s two showcase gigs have gone well – people laughed, no one left or threw up, apparently.

Mary was Cup winner in the Clap Off for her first public gig at Comedy Virgins at The Cav, Dec 2018.

Rock chick in Look Fabulous Forever advert. Aired summer 2018. Director Mike Reynolds said “You’re a natural, you could do this for a living”

Radio
Radio 4 Saturday Live August 2018 as Scythe Enthusiast. Kissed by Rylan Clarke-Neal . . but only because he was scared of her enormous tool.
Mary lives a varied life as Buddhist, scytheswoman, soul midwife, cranio-sacral therapist, forest gardener and completely average cook.
