Karen Taylor

In only three years, Karen has risen from being a finalist in the Daily Telegraph Open Mic Award 1999, to multi-award nominee for her contribution as a writer/performer in ITV1's hit comedy The Sketch Show. The first series of the show has won a BAFTA for Best Comedy Series and enjoyed nominations for a British Comedy Award, a Golden Rose of Montreux and a Banff Television Award

Karen's salaciously sharp tongue is guaranteed to scare, excite and thrill punters in equal measure. Her racy, upfront act came to prominence at the Edinburgh Festival in 2000 as part of The Comedy Zone showcase, which had previously featured household names such as Mark Lamarr and Harry Hill. Since then Karen's lavacious sense of humour has been busy entertaining crowds up and down the UK on The Comedy Network and at leading venues such as The Comedy Store.

Karen returns to The Sketch Show for a second series on ITV1 this year, following its huge success with numerous award nominations and a triumphant visit to The Aspen Comedy Festival in February 2002.
