Jonny & the Baptists

Musical comedians Jonny & the Baptists formed at the start of 2012 and have since risen rapidly across the UK comedy circuit.

In 2013 they were nominated for the New Act of the Year Awards, Musical Comedy Awards & Amused Moose Edinburgh Comedy Award, and were named ‘musical comedy’s rising stars’ by the Sunday Times and in the Top 10 UK Comedy Talents to watch by the Independent on Sunday


They have appeared on national TV and radio including on Radio 4’s The Now Show, The Infinite Monkey Cage and Sketchorama, Channel 5’s The Gadget Show and BBC TV pick of Edinburgh Fresh From the Fringe.


They have toured nationally and played comedy clubs across the country, as well as appearing at the Latitude, Cornbury, Bearded Theory, Brighton Fringe and Leicester Comedy Festivals and hosting their own residency at the Leicester Square Theatre.

They have also been regulars on Marcus Brigstocke's Early Edition in Edinburgh and Robin Ince's Nine Lessons and Carols for Godless People in London; and their first two Edinburgh shows met with critical acclaim, transferring to London's Kings Place and Soho Theatres respectively.

The band

Jonny & the Baptists are Jonny Donahoe and Paddy Gervers, and most commonly appear as a two-piece. For larger gigs their play with a range of guest musicians and are available as a larger band.
