“Honest hilarity… a masterclass in comedy” - Darren Bevan, TVNZ ***WINNER, NZ INTERNATIONAL COMEDY FESTIVAL FRED AWARD 2011*** Multi-award winner Jan Maree is New Zealand’s top female comedian with numerous television, print and radio credits to her name. Jan was a guest roaster on The Comedy Central Roast of Mike King, the first to be staged outside of the U.S. Exceptionally good at being herself, Jan won hearts whilst ‘surviving’ on TV2’s reality show Island Wars and as a subject painted by Auckland artist Marty Welch for TV6’s The Sitting. She is currently finishing up work in her role as presenter on a four episode series for MTV Networks, scheduled for broadcast in NZ in August. Jan is first and foremost a live comedian with a diverse set of stage skills; her stand-up/cooking hybrid shows entitled Eat Me took the NZICF Best Show Award 2009. At last year’s kiwi comedy festival Jan premiered a cooking, singing, dancing mega-mix Fever Bitch! which saw her become the first female comedian to win New Zealand’s highest accolade, the prestigious Fred Award. After a successful season of that show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2012 it was released on DVD and subsequently bought by Comedy Central for New Zealand broadcast. This year her newest show Hairy Today Gone Tomorrow premiered at The NZ International Comedy Festival to rave reviews. Jan’s quick wit and energy make her a most talented MC and live event host; everything from awards nights to weddings. Jan Maree can relate to any crowd in any venue, bringing belly laughs with her brutally honest autobiographical material.
