Iyare (pronunced Yar-Ray)

A true renaissance man Iyare's set touches on all the important issues of the day, race, fatherhood and fried chicken. He has been described as surprisingly witty by his mum.

It's a long & winding road that has led Iyare to stand up comedy. His chequered employment history includes stints in retail, as a record promoter, a college tutor and even a music editor at short lived but much loved music website Darker Than Blue.

His 5 years as co-presenter of the BBC 1Xtra Breakfast Show (2002-2007) brought him to wider attention and led to further work at BBC 6Music (2007-2009), BBC Radio 2, regular contributor slots at BBC London and numerous appearances on BBC 5Live's hugely popular 'Fighting Talk'.

Throughout his varied career he has always brought a comic sensibility to all his work and in 2013 he finally took the plunge and performed his first stand up gig at Up The Creek in Greenwich.

His current schedule includes regular sessions for the BFI's Education department, radio programmes and voice overs and video content directing.
