PRINCE, Madonna, Elvis – entertainment legends who need use only one name; now there’s another one to join their ranks… Eric. Eric’s route to the stage began by accident one fateful night in London where he was combining his favourite pastimes - watching live comedy and drinking beer – when he suddenly found himself transformed from punter to performer! He was sat enjoying the show and a pint or two, when after a bit of banter with the Compere the legendary Malcolm Hardee, Malcolm suddenly announced that the next act hadn’t turned up…“So,” he said, jabbing a finger at Eric “You have to get up and do it.” Then, with no material whatsoever, Eric found himself on the wrong side of the mic with nothing but charm to see him through. That unplanned performance resulted in a comedy career that has seen the affable Londoner pack in appearances in the UK and the USA. He’s still on his way up, taking as many gigs as possible, but wherever he appears his aim is always the same. As Eric explains: “Every club is different, but whether the audience prefer observational humour, stories, word play or rude stuff, one thing is always the same: People come to a show and pay to be entertained! So, being a punter myself, I always look at it through their eyes. And try to give them what they want.” And Eric is capable of entertaining you whatever your preference, if you want sharp ‘observational humour’ then you won’t be disappointed, likewise if it’s ‘word play’ that tickles you, but if you happen to be in a club where ‘rude stuff’ is the order of the day you wont just get smut as you might with some comedians, you will be treated to the same comic twists and turns as in his clean stuff, but applied in such a way that the most innocent of things can become the rudest in Eric’s inventive imagination. Before becoming a comedian Eric served in the Royal Navy on Submarines; since June 2007 Eric has been exploring the rich comic vein of his experiences and has a wealth of stories of the Ups and Downs (Sorry) of submarine life, making him a truly unique act Go see him the next chance you get.
