Dermot Whelan

Dermot burst on to the comedy scene late in 2004. In his first year, he has performed at the Kilkenny Cat's Laugh Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and, more recently, at Vicar Street in the Liffey Laughs for RTE television. He was also shortlisted for the BBC New Comedy Awards 2005 and will appear on BBC TV in January 2006 in a stand-up comedy special.

Dermot hosts a weekday breakfast show on the hugely successful Dublin radio station 98FM and is host of TV3's football entertainment programme, "The Offside Show". He has recently released a comedy album which has reached no. 2 in the Irish Album Charts with double platinum status.
