Arnold Widdowson


Arnold started his career in the double act Ben & Arn which won the Perrier Newcomer award in 1999. Since then he has created the thinking man's French pop duo - Priorité à Gauche which enjoyed three sell out Edinburgh shows including a special 4 night run of 'Le Best of Priorité à Gauche's Greatest Hits' in 2003. Priorité have also toured the UK, France and Australia and currently have their own TV Show 'Le Hip Parade' on PlayUK, as well as an animated series and a stint on the '11 o'clock Show' for Channel 4.

Arnold has appeared on a variety of TV and radio shows including Radio 4's Loose Ends, ITV's Comedy Café and Reeves & Mortimer's Families at War, Radio 4's The Now Show and Front Row, BBC Choice's Lenny Beige's Variety Pack and BBC2's Edinburgh Comedy two years running. His live work includes the NME Brat Awards and Children In Need's Benefit Night at Shepherd's Bush Empire as well as many other gigs all over the country. He also co-wrote and presented the BBC's hour long special AS Guru - an essential guide for young students. His writing credits also include the BBC2 sketch shows Velvet Soup and Revolver

As well directing new live comedy, Arnold is also currently working on the brand new series Priorité à Gauche show 'Tour De Force' which premieres at the Edinburgh Festival this August.
