Ardal O'Hanlon

Ardal O'Hanlon, is best remembered from 'Father Ted' and he has consistently proven himself to be one of Ireland's greatest living comedianssince he won the Hackney Empire New Act Of The year Award back in 1994. He is Multi awarding winning comedian, and one of the most acclaimed stand-up comedians to emerge from the comedy scene in recent years.

As Father Doogal in C4's 'Father Ted', Ardal has reached cult status.Video sales for 'Father Ted' have shot through the roof, breaking all recordsas the programme's massive fan base rush to ensure they have every episode on tape. The show was acclaimed as the funniest program of itstime, this being confirmed by winning a BAFTA for the Best Comedy Seriesand Ardal being nominated for Best Comedy Performance. Unfortunately,the writers will not be making any more episodes as the actor who playedFather Ted (Dermot Morgan) sadly died of a heart attack.

Ardal has recently completed two sell-out UK tours, performing to capacities of up to 2000.Ardal stars in the ITV drama series 'Big Bad World' as 'Earnon' and is the lead in the BBC comedy series, 'My Hero'. Film roles include the lead in the forthcoming USA feature 'Another Bobby O'Hara Story' Neil Jordan's 'The Butcher Boy', 'Moll Flanders' and lead in the award winning short feature, 'Flying Saucer Rock 'n' Roll'. In addition to presenting 'The Stand Up Show' on BBC, Ardal has written a best selling novel, the 'Talk of
The Town', published by Sceptre. He also has a solo video out, 'Ardal O'Hanlon Live' and has had a solo Channel 4 special of the same name. He is currently writing his second novel.
