Andrew Doyle

Andrew is a stand-up and playwright known for his cerebral bitchiness and “excellent one-liners” (The Times).  He has supported Perrier award-winner Scott Capurro at the Leicester Square Theatre in London, and the Komedia in Brighton.  He will be supporting Scott on his UK tour in 2011.

Andrew’s last show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival was Sex and Hugs and Forward Rolls in 2010 as part of the Five Pound Fringe (with James Acaster and Ben Van Der Velde).  His previous Edinburgh shows include Christie & Doyle’s Axis of Evil (with Bridget Christie) at the Underbelly in 2005 (“wonderfully observed, well executed inventions” – Chortle) and the Shakespearean farce Shamlet, which was a sell-out show at C Venues in 2003, later transferring to the King’s Head Theatre in London in 2006 (“Hysterical… set to be a comedy classic **** – Edinburgh Evening News)

Andrew has also written two comedy plays for BBC Radio 4: Jimmy Murphy Makes Amends (2008) and The Second Mr Bailey (2010).
