Alex Maple

Anglo-Asian stand up comedian Alex Maple gigs throughout London and the UK using one-liners, jokes and wordplay as well as acute observations drawn from his English-Islamic upbringing. In addition to TV presenting, he has worked on programmes such as BBC 2's 'Mock The Week' and 'Fast and Loose'. He has also written for BBC and commercial radio.

Alex began performing paid 20 minute slots within eight months of starting stand up and reached the final of the 2009 Laughing Horse New Act of the Year competition.

He performed his first solo show 'Alex Maple's Press Release' at the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe in the Underbelly. The show was rated four stars and received many plaudits. At the same festival he also played a role in 'The Hotel', a play directed by Mark Watson.
