Ukulele Eric

Ukulele Eric has been in showbiz since he was a teenager when he started singing in pubs and clubs.  His first 'pro' job came when he was 21 when he joined the famous 'Black and White Minstrel Show'.  He followed that with various touring musicals with the legendary John Hanson.  This was followed by a string of shows in the West End of London, panto, etc.  He then became one half of a boy/girl duo who went on to have a couple of 'hits'.  Eventually he and his partner split up and Eric continued as a solo singer/entertainer in clubs, holiday camps and cruises etc.  He then went to Australia for a few years where he had a modicum of success in the Sydney area.  He returned to Britain and through a chance encounter found himself in the twilight world of the 'Country Music' circuit, singing and playing his guitar.  After which he turned to acting, appearing in various fringe plays and also presenting a couple of one-man shows, one of which he took to the Edinburgh Fringe where he won an award. He also worked as a Cruise Director for a while.  A few years ago he took up the uke specialising in quirky and comedy songs and covers of songs not usually associated with the uke. He also includes stand up in his act. Videos of him can be seen on YouTube on his channel: Ukuleleric the link for which is:  http://www.youtube.com/user/Ukuleleric?feature=mhum
