Tony Augarde

Tony is possibly the oldest stand-up comedian in the business. He's 69 years old and his main clain to fame is reaching the heats of the BBC Comedy Awards in 2004. His act tries to convince audiences that old people can be funny as well as annoying, forgetful and dribbling.

He worked at the Oxford University Press for 30 years compiling dictionaries. He is now a freelance comedian, writer, broadcaster and musician. He has appeared in BBC1, ITV, Radio 4 and many local radio stations; writes television reviews for the Oxford Times; presents a weekly jazz programme on BBC South; and plays the drums for various bands.
