Tomas Ahlbeck

Tomas has a multifarious career as base-player in a punkrockband, cartoonist, teacher, satirist and Press Secretary.
Furthermore he is a father of three.

His first career as base player in the punkrockband The Vomiting Frog abruptly ended when the bandmembers could not agree on what name they would change to that particular week.

His career havered on through cartoon drawing and causerie writing, via satiric and novel writing, to the stand up of today. Besides this, he has also had a full time job as Press Secretary at, among other places, the Swedish Parliament.

As a comedy writer, Tomas has experience from daily press aswell as novel-writing. Except for his own book En Tunn Bok ( A Thin Book), the novel Love, Sex & Funny Business, co-written with musician John Davies, has recently been published.

Tomas act on stage has been mentioned as dry, intelligent and alert, while sometimes touching the absurd.
His main theme is his refusal to admit that there are things he does not understand. His reflections on current news mixed with witty and quirky oneliners have been appreciated by the audience.
