Tina Kim

"If an ugly guy doesn't call me back, I stalk him."

Former television news reporter and anchor Tina Kim moved to the United States when she was four years old and grew up in Seattle, Washington. She is the youngest of four children and graduated from the University of Washington with a broadcast communications degree. "I wanted to be on tv and the only Asian woman I saw on tv was Connie Chung." After working as a reporter in small towns after graduating, Tina decided to drop everything and move to New York City. She didn't know anyone in New York, nor did she have a job lined up. With no fear she sold her car and went with $2000.00 in her pocket. After arriving in the Big Apple she registered with temp agencies and moved in with people looking for roommates. Soon she decided to pursue her dream of being a stand-up comic. She took some comedy classes in New York city and found out it was a scam, promoted shows at some comedy clubs, worked in offices of stand-up clubs, and answered phones in return for stage time, and realized that was a scam too, and then eventually decided to produce her own shows. Since then she has performed at numerous comedy clubs throughout the nation, sold out her own shows in New York, San Francisco, Boston, Vancouver, Seattle, and headlines internationally. She has been featured on CNN, CNBC, NBC, REUTERS, and BBC Radio. She also debuted her show Tina Kim Single and Available at the Edinbrugh Fringe Festival 2003.

Tina has executive produced the very first Asian American stand up showcase in New York city and Boston. She currently performs at colleges, corporate events, and is currently producing her show "Single and Available" across the United States. Tina also guest hosts Asian America on PBS and writes her comic strip "Tina's Stand-Up World."
Tina hopes to eventually have her own talk show or be a regular on a comedy series.

Tina has performed for such events as The Washingon State Leadership conference, The Asian Women in Business, The Boys and Girls Club of America, The Asian American Journalist Assocation, Bud Light Ladies of Laughter, Carolines, The Boston Comedy Festival, The San Francisco Comedy Competition, NBC's Last Comic Standing, The International Seattle Comedy Competition, The Vancouver Comedy Festival, The Harvard Law Review, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2003, NAAAP national convention, and much more.
