Special P Frederick

Special P Frederick had a special gift and so much charm in making people laugh. At the tender age of 23 he was writing material for various comics to use in their shows. Despite his natural talent as a comic, he initially embarked on a career as a qualified accountant setting up the accounts department for AOL when they expanded in to the UK and then went on to set up his own thriving company selling Organic Fruit and Vegetables.

It wasn't until 2001 when it was suggested he should perform his own material. His passion and thirst for comedy saw him spending the next 18 months learning about comedy, continuing to write material for other comics and observed to see how receptive the public was to what he had written and slowly ventured out on to the stage; quickly becoming recognised and in demand.
Within his first two years as a comic he appeared on:

• Channel fours "so you think you are funny";

• he was a finalist in the Wilkinson sword competition and

• achieved a BECA award for best newcomer in 2002.

He continually writes and performs his own material, testing the comical boundaries and was awarded with another BECA award for 'the most original material' in 2004.

He regularly plays theatres and is billed with brand named comics/comedians.

Despite being sort after to perform comedy abroad, Special P knew within himself he was not totally ready, because of work and family commitments. Several agents approached and advised him to take up comedy as a full time career, he knew there was still a lot more to experience and realised that comedy was a continuous learning process. A crucial turning point came when he was asked to tour Germany in October 2006, he took on the challenge and to date he has not looked back. He continues to grow from strength to strength and now performs in Germany, Sweden, Holland, China and the USA; he is a regular act of choice to perform for The US Army and the RAF. He now frequents Hollywood (USA) Washington and New York performing in the more established venues such as, The Laugh Factory, The Improv, The Comedy Store and other mainstream and alternative comedy clubs. Special P is now recognised as an International Comedian.
In his second semester his plans was to be recognised as a strong talented comic, by appearing in major venues, and created his own TV chat show on community radio then on Sky channel 200 called "The Reality Show."

His Style
Peter is intrigued in observing the behaviour of people that he has met. This helped him develop his observational humour and skills and is known for using unique expressions and body language from the offset to engage and captivate his audience. He has a cheeky wit and charm but has a thoughtful element to his lyrics. Hence the name "The Charmer "with messages a comedy secret.

It is very rare to find a comedian with such adaptability to cover a wide range of material which are not only cultural based, He covers material from relationships, politics to social behaviour both home and abroad.
