Simon Salmon - Character act of Marcus Whitfield

Winner of Up The Creek's One to Watch Final April 2011, Simon Salmon really is “one to watch”.

His awkward nervous personality has you glued to his set, listening carefully in case you miss something. He is however guaranteed to have the audience in hysterics, whilst sometimes wondering what the hell they are laughing at. Whether it be his amazing impressions, his wonderful poetry or his jokes deliberately tailored to his unique personality something will definitely tickle your funny bone. Simon's act, is an act you really want to tell all your friends about. When you try, however, you really will not find a way to do it justice. It absolutely is a must see experience for any fan of unique comedy.

Here is a review from a Cambridge Student Newspaper

“Matt was followed by the hilarious Simon Salmon whose first words upon gracing the stage - wearing the wonderfully weird combination of red socks and Jesus sandals - were, "My name is Simon, but not like the Fish" (it takes a while to get the joke). Although there are no words to describe the strangeness of his act, I have a compulsive need to dive into details purely in order to convey the utter hilarity and roaring laughter that he invoked. Simon's characterisation throughout was impressive, skilfully transforming himself from a nerdy Brit on holiday into a ripped superhero. It was only at the end of his act when the mystery of his red socks was revealed: they formed part of his Superman act which, due to its randomness, was one of the highlights of the evening. The act verged on insanity when from a suitcase Simon pulled out two toy squirrels riding horses, but nevertheless, his slapstick humour had the audience in hysterics.”

Herts and Essex Observer 6th December 2012
Eccentric Newcomer Simon Superman Salmon had the audience in hysterics with his off-the-wall humour, uncanny royal impressions and nonsense poems about squirrels and Lisa Riley. When he tottered onto the stage in a pair of high heels, noone could have guessed what was about to happen but his peculiar material combined with his nervous unhinged delivery was a real breath of fresh air which sometimes left you laughing with no idea why.

Quotes - Daniel O Gorman -Scream Lounge Croydon.
Simon is a must see act! A certain laugh a minute. When he headlined my gig he had the audience truly at his mercy. They couldn't get enough of him.

James Beatty of Laughoutloud comedy in Essex “ I have regularly booked Simon over the last year and watched his act and confidence grow. I often book Simon to end my middle section or as an act just before the headliner. Students love him”

Steve Rimmer – Simon recently headlined my gig at Saville Row Hull and absolutely smashed it, the crowd were still discussing him the following month.

Rob Saunders – Colchester hole in the wall - Simon is brilliant, bonkers and absolutely hilarious! He recently absolutely rocked my gig in Colchester.
