2008 Nivea Funny Women Awards semi-finalist Sara Benham began her comedy career with an open spot at Travestees Comedy Club in Glastonbury. Her twisted tales of rural life, families and relationships gained her a place in the Final of the BBC Comic Relief Stand Up For The Big One Competition in 2007. Sara was also a finalist in the 2007 Channel 4 Gags to Go Competition with her sketch 'Hostage Negotiator', and was a writer on the BAFTA winning 'Blowout' sketch show in association with The Comedy Unit in Glasgow and Channel 4. She was also a semi-finalist in the UK Funny Women competition, performing at the Comedy Store in Manchester. Two short stories 'The Truth About Janet' and 'Cigarettes And Whiskey' have been published as part of a collection by Leaf Books. Sara continues to write and perform stand-up, and also jointly presents Lynne and Sara's Big Air on Glastonbury fm, with Lynne Alecsander. TV Radio Stage Clubs
