Sam Stone

"Wickedly promising" - Time Out

Deceptively misanthropic for one who smiles so willlingly. Her act is largely autobiographical with some social and political observations and a bit of chatty pathos. Drawing on an extremely intinerant background, Sam uses her ability to adopt accents and create little characters throughout. She has been doing stand-up since April 2006. Expect a warm and articulate delivery with some very dark undertones and an occasional brief and silly song on guitar for some of the longer sets.

Winner of one of the Comedy Cafe new act showcases 2007
Semi-Finalist in the Laughing Horse new act comp 2008
Finalist in the The Other Side new act competition 2007

Resident compere at 'The Birthday Club' - Komedia studio bar, Brighton.

Has been booked by The Stand (Edinburgh), Komedia (Brighton), Comedy Junction (Birmingham), Mirth Control (across the UK), Joogleberry Playhouse (Brighton), Hampstead Comedy Club & Laughing Horse venues. Regularly performs at new act nights at The Comedy Cafe (London) and Downstairs at The Kings Head (London).

Festivals- Edinburgh Fringe 2008 - 'The Umbrella Show.' (a three hander with Dan Allen and Paul McCaffrey)
Writes a column called 'Laughing Stock' which chronicles her experiences as a comedian on the circuit for www.artshub.co.uk

Enjoys working with her speaking and singing voice for radio and uses a wide selection of accents.

"Darkly Twisted" - Time Out
"Brilliant. Woody Allen type truisms delivered deadpan" - Latest 7 Magazine
"I'm not actually deadpan. It's the botox" - Sam Stone
