Russ Powell

Russ Powell has quickly established himself as a rising star on the comedy circuit having been all over the UK and beyond charming audiences with witty one-liners, tales of childhood shenanigans and impeccible social commentary to create a hilarious time for all. In little over a year in stand up Russ has; Headlined gigs for Bad Kat comedy, Aristocrats Comedy and the Comedy Island amongst other smaller nights, gigged internationally at the FIB festival in Spain, performed to crowds of over 500 at the Wychwood festival in Cheltenham, reached the finals of the Newbury and Reading festival comeptitions and the semis of the Laughing Horse new act of the year competition, been shortlisted for the ITV show me the funny, Durex One night stand up, FHM stand up hero and Red Hot New Talent competitions and has beaten the gong at the infamous London Comedy Store King Gong.

Along the way Russ has gigged with the likes of Robin Ince, Tony Cowards, Paul Sinha, Bob Mills and Isy Suttie and performed 5/10/15/20/30 minute slots for (and then been rebooked by) The Komedia, Mirth Control, Funhouse Comedy, Oi Oi comedy, Crack Comedy and The Comedy Tree to name but a few. Russ has also set up a number of comedy nights in and around his adopted hometown of Reading and MC's these along with other MC work for Mirth Control, The Comedy Cafe and Short Circuit Comedy.
