Rebecca Carrington - a talented musician, impressionist and singer is rapidly becoming a cult hit on the comedy/cabaret circuit. She has been described as a Victor Borge of the 21st Century! A classically trained cellist, Rebecca won a scholarship to study at The Royal Northern College of Music and completed a Masters of Music at Rice University in Houston, USA. She performs with many leading orchestras including the London Symphony, London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, Philharmonia and the BBC Symphony Orchestras. It was whilst studying music in America that Rebecca first became involved in the comedy/cabaret scene. She soon began performing in comedy clubs across the U.S., including The New York Comedy Club and The Comedy Store, LA. In 1996 she won the university MASTERCARD TALENT SEARCH and went on to perform on CBS and NBC television and National Public Radio. Radio
appearances in the UK include LOOSE ENDS (BBC Radio 4), IN TUNE (BBC Radio 3),
JAMMIN' (BBC Radio 2 - two series), LONDON LIVE (BBC) and LBC. Rebecca is also a talented voice-over artist, session singer and backing vocalist having sung with a variety of jazz bands and pop artists. In 2001 she completed a European tour with David Byrne (ex-Talking Heads). Rebecca has been featured on both Austrian and German TV and Radio and continues to play in venues all over the world, performing her shows in German, French and English. Recent UK television appearances include DOUBLE TAKE for BBC 2 and recently seen on TOP 100 CARTOONS on CHANNEL 4, she also continues to be in demand on the corporate circuit.
