What sets Phil's act apart from the crowd is his live and pre-prepared cartoon drawings which deveop with unexpected consequences. Otherwise, Phil's style includes everything from naive musings, spot-on impressions and surreal observations, to manic anger, witty songs and sheep imitations. Phil heralds from Yorkshire but has performed all over the UK. He has had two one-man shows at the Edinburgh Fringe (at the Gilded Balloon and Sweet) which have received excellent four-star reviews (see below), and at the time of writing has reached the final of the Other Side New Act of the Year contest. He has performed at venues including the Frog and Bucket (Manchester), Springstorm (Doncaster), Greenbelt Festival (Cheltenham), The Other Side (Doncaster, Grimsby, Scunthorpe), the Barnsley Festival, the Ilkley Literature Festival, and Just Fair Laughs (Leeds and Cheltenham). He has appeared on BBC Radio Sheffield, BBC Radio Leeds and Real Radio. Phil balances writing and performing adult stand-up with children's comedy, story-telling and illustrating. Phil's first children's book 'Lollipopman: Superhero of the Highway' has been published, with the sequel due out early 2008.
