Paul Duncan McGarrity

My name is Paul Duncan McGarrity, I have been performing stand up on the London circuit for about two years. In this time I have made it into the semi finals of the laughing horse new act of the year competition. I have performed at both the Secret Garden Party festival and at Clarence house on behalf of the START campaign, a charity supported by the Prince of Whales and Jools Holland. In the summer of 2010 I took part in a three handed stand up show with the comedians Laura Carr and Lindsay Sharman, where a review in Three Weeks described me as, "practically bursting with energy...a hard act to follow"

I have a high energy, story telling style which goes down well with all age groups, I can perform clean sets if needs be, although to be perfectly honest I swear very rarely in my sets any way so this is no great bind. I have a background in improv comedy, having performed as part of the critically acclaimed 'Dead Man in a Box' troupe from 2006 until 2009. I am also comfortable as an MC, I have fulfilled this roll at various events including the 'Really Lovely new acts' comedy show, 'Elysian Nights' burlesque night and at the 'Earls Court community festival' outdoor music stage.
