Norman Cho has been performing since June 2008. Originally hailing from Singapore, he has been working as a criminal lawyer for almost twenty years. Over that time, a fear of doing actual jail time, has made him refrain from telling judges, his clients, coppers, his mum, well basically anyone what he really thinks. Then he discovered stand-up comedy. Since then, he has entertained individual members of the audience and their pet animals in the back rooms of pubs up and down this great land. He takes great pleasure in skewering stereotypes (doesnʼt everybody?) and examining the cultural contradictions of living in Modern Day Britain. He also has a mean array of knob gags, which he claims to be longer and thicker than anyone elseʼs. You probably would not book him for an evening of clean humour for the WI. On the other hand, he has been enthusiastically received in pubs up and down the land where drunken audience members have embraced with enthusiasm his deep and intense discussions about the impact of multiculturalism and multi-faith communities on the British Social Contract. Either that or the cock jokes that bookended the discussion. He has chosen to operate undercover but is now starting to lay a firmer grasp on the greased piglet that is comedy success. He has performed in venues as large as the Alexandra Theatre and as humble as his bedroom. ʻNorman is a force not to be messed with and I think he will do well. To sum up his act I would say odd, awkward, fast and brilliant! ʼ- West Midlands Comedy Forum.
