Mikey Adams

"Very Very Funny." -- The List

“Opening act Michael Adams was a new name to us, but one that I am keen to see again. He quickly was into his material and had some wicked stuff and a pleasing delivery style. He hit the right note with the punters too soon interacting with them and much as delivering his set. Certainly I will be watching his career with interest.” -- www.one4review.com

Mikey started stand up after his 19th birthday in November 2007 after being a massive comedy fan and regular at The Stand comedy club in Glasgow. An unplanned 5 minute spot at The Stand's acclaimed Red Raw night garnered him his first press quote and led to gig after gig with promoters literally all around… Glasgow.

Mikey’s varied life experiences as a young man shape his observations in ways other young comics can’t conceive, having lived in India when he was 16 then upon returning to Scotland joining the Territorial Army which is possibly the finest place to hone a sense of humor as the Army provides so many people at which to laugh at.

Apart from performing in comedy clubs all over Scotland, In his short but eventful comedy career he has worked regularly with the Comedy Troupe "The Amazing Bastard" where he wrote and performed sketches on several occasions including special appearances at the Glasgow Comedy Festival and Leith Comedy Festival.

Mikey has also worked with the improve troupe "Dance, Monkey Boy Dance". His solid progression in skill as a performer led to him being much sought after as a support act for several festival solo shows including supporting Mark Nelson (Scottish comedian of the year 2006), Gary Little and The How Do I Get Up There Sketch Troupe at their three separate hour long shows during the Glasgow Comedy Festival 2009 and Also supporting The Reverend Obadiah Steppenwolfe III throughout his tour of Scotland. He is also mentioned in a rather embarrassing story on the commentary of Frankie Boyle's 2008 DVD.

His clever material, laid back style coupled with the frighteningly natural onstage presence and comfortable audience interaction skills has seen him do over 150 gigs in his first 8 months performing given him the opportunity to develop his confidence and hone his material very early on. In the latter half of 2008 and into 2009 seen Mikey start to venture down south to enter into the wider comedy world, garnering lots of experience gigging all over the UK as well as having a very sucessful series of comedy festivals including Edinburgh and Glasgow.
