Mick McEwan

The son of the man who wrote Billy Connolly's 'Welly Boot Song', it was somewhat inevitable that Michael McEwan should grow up to have a fascination with comedy. Now, still only 19 years old, he has taken that fascination and used it to carve a niche for himself on the stages of comedy clubs in his native Glasgow and his not-so-native Edinburgh.

Still a relative novice to the circuit - he has only been performing since the tail end of 2003 - Michael regularly does open spots at the Madcap Comedy Club at the State Bar in Glasgow, and also features at the Stand and various other clubs in Scotland.

A student by day, he has established and is president of the University of Strathclyde's comedy club, 'Laugh @ The Union' where he is the regular compere.

Described as being a 'baby-faced, adult-mouthed, wee Jock' he combines his eternal cynicism with uniquely absurd self-deprecation, making him a hit with audiences wherever he goes.

Now starting to make appearances in clubs all across the U.K., those who have seen him are already predicting a big future for him.
