Matt Richardson

After starting comedy at 18 in 2010 Matt Richardson has rapidly established himself as one of the hottest and most exciting acts on the comedy circuit. After appearing in the So You Think You're Funny and Chortle Student Comedy Award finals just six months later and winning dozens of other competitions, he hit the ground running and has now performed all over the country and abroad. Matt can be seen at some of the biggest clubs and gigs for some of the largest promoters in the country either performing sets or compèreing with his high-energy and confessional stand-up.

Matt has begun previewing his much anticipated début solo show - titled 'Hometown Hero' which will be unleashed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2013. The show won the Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival's 'Best New Show' award on it's first ever outing in February 2012.

Quotes

"Brash, Slick and full of mildly laddish but self-deprecating stories all delivered with an irresistible twinkle - there's a keen observational mind here. Richardson may be full of self-confidence but he's got broad appeal to back up the cockiness" - The Guardian

"This (extremely) young stand-up is poised to be the next bright, young sensation on the circuit - expect to hear a lot more of him" - The Guardian

"Confident and Engaging... at just 19 there are bags potential here" - Chortle

"A whirling ball of talent, energy and intelligent observational comedy. He comes across as a man who could read the phonebook and make it funny, but instead of painting by numbers his comedy is sharp, strong and very impressive" - Offbeat Magazine
