Matthew Baylis

Unlike so many younger comedians Matthew has never "Exploded onto the Scene !"   being in his forties he prefers a more leisurely approach.  Based in Hampshire, he has been gigging since 2007 following a career in business.  Matthew is a father of six and VERY middle class and much of his comedy is based around being a parent, growing up and being "a little bit older."  Most of his material is clean but with more than a nod to adult themes.  The act is very chatty and there is a lot of audience involvement.  Essentially he is a nice guy - and a bit posh !

In demand as a compere, opening and middle act Matthew performs spots up to 20 minutes for a range of promoters (Ha Ha Comedy, Out of Bounds, Mirth Control and several others) and for independent clubs, restaurants, golf clubs, nightclubs and private parties.  He has also played numerous music festivals both introducing music acts (to crowds as big as 1,000) and in comedy tents (to crowds as few as 20 !!).  He has recently completed a TV pilot in which he is the "genial host" and recorded a part in a radio sitcom.  In January 2011 he had his first gigs in Sydney.

Matthew is keen to support a number of charities and has gigged (and been auctioneer) for nights benefitting Cancer Research, The British Heart Foundation, Mencap and a local children's hospice.
