Liz
Bentley
I
am a comedienne, writer, poet and musician.
I like to perform sit down
comedy with my ukulele and Casio keyboard at comedy, cabaret, music, literary
and company events - or anywhere else. I can provide anything from a 20 minute
set to a couple of hours entertainment.
I have performed at some fantastic
clubs, theatres and comedy, literary and music festivals with comedians like John
Hegley, Josie Long and Robin Ince to name but a few. I was extremely honoured
to read poetry for the late Malcolm Hardee's memorial, on Simon Munnery's Resonance
Radio show.
I am the first winner of "Poetry Idol" and the only
ever winner of "Poetry Idol the Rivals" at Short Fuse, Camden Head.
"Like a female Ivor Cutler" The Scotsman
"Such an exhilarating
experience. Bentley is beguiling, her show proves to be one of the barmiest 60
minutes you could spend at the Fringe" Cortle ****
"Truly the
most indefinable act I have ever seen. The experience was so surreal that I wouldnt
want to have missed it." Three Weeks 2007
The
humour is wonderfully subtle... dark, a little bit frightenning, and definitely
one of my fringe highlights." THREE WEEKS ***** Edinburgh 2004
"A
brilliant performance ending a great conference" ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY
AND COLLEGE COUNSELLORS CONFERENCE 2005, Nottingham University
