19 year old stand-up comedian from Liverpool.
My act is predominantly joke based, with lots of one-liners and kickers. More and more I’m opting to use intelligent word-play in approach to make people laugh. However, I’m slowly moving into longer, story-based jokes, whilst also touching on a few observations in the process as I continue to extend the length of my set and add to the range of my material. I’ve got a very confident stage presence and I’m also keen on moving into a bit of compering in the future as I’ve found myself fairly competent with audience interaction.
I’ve been gigging on and off, (I had to take some time out to focus on my education), for about a year and a half now, amassing over 150 gigs, I lost count after 100 to be honest, during which time I’ve participated in the following competitions:
The Best of Rawhide Raw 2010: Finalist
The Frog and Bucket World Series 2010: Finalist.
Hot Water Comedy Comedian of the Year 2010: Finalist
The Laughing Horse New Act of the Year 2011: Quarter Finalist.
Laughterhouse New Act of the Year 2011: Finalist
I’ve also won most of the gong shows around the North-West at least once, if not more, including Rawhide Raw and both Frog and Bucket’s, Manchester and Preston, as well as featuring in many and winning some “best of” open-mic competitions in the area. I’ve even taken part in small comedy festivals including Southport together with Stand Out on Tour, The Preston Tringe Festival and I was chosen by the BBC Blast team to perform at Hub Festival.
I’m now at the stage where I’m making the transition into paid work with regular middle spots and opening 20’s with Hot Water Comedy. I’ve also had paid 20’s from lesser known promoters/gigs such as Walk the Plank (Irlam, Pete Phillips), L.O.L. Comedy (Warrington, Bobby Murdock) and A Laugh in Stockport (Stockport, Ryan Giles), amongst other individual nights here and there.
