John Robins

After beginning stand-up in spring 2005 John reached the semi-final of SYTYF in Edinburgh that year after only a handful of gigs. In 2007 he appeared in the prestigious Comedy Zone showcase at The Edinburgh Festival to rave reviews: The pinnacle of the show…Robins was worth the ticket price alone” ThreeWeeks
In 2008 John teamed up with another talented newcomer to perform in ‘Carl Donnelly VS John Robins VS Predator’ which received similar acclaim “Like discovering buried treasure” Fest. 2009 will see John perform his first hour; Skinny Love. An hour of new material intended as a work in progress for this show has been nominated for “Best Debut Show” at the Leicester Comedy Festival Awards 2009.

As an act John represents the “new wave of storyteller” Evening Post, skilfully weaving narrative, improvisation and punchy gags into his unique, self-effacing style. John has quickly made his name as one of the most quick-witted, engaging comedians on the circuit. Always willing to expect the unexpected, John guarantees a great show for audiences and acts alike. He’s the latest maverick to burst out of Bristol’s hotbed of talent and he has stories to tell, banter to have, and bombs to drop.
