James Hately

James is a weird and wonderful performer with a spindly 'pythonesque' figure and a dazzling imagination. His act makes use of surreal logic and imagery to bring a magical quality to the everyday.

In his first year and a half of comedy James appeared in the Magners Pub Comedian of the Year final 2008, won his only appearance at the Frog and Bucket gong show in Manchester, won a few other lesser gong shows and competition heats, was invited to perform twice as an open spot at Just the Tonic in Nottingham, put on a show in Edinburgh 2008, and more recently was asked to perform at the Green Man festival in 2009 and 2010. In 2009-11 James has been busy setting up a small comedy cafe and building up a comedy scene in Derby however is now hungry for the gigs again.
