James Dawn

A clean comic , James started his career in comedy writing and has credits with both BBC and ITV companies having been writer/script editor for most of the comics in the 80/90s including Tom O'Connor, Russ Abbot, Grumbleweeds, Gary Wilmot, Bob Monkhouse, Max Bygraves, Little and Large ( I needed the money...honest!) Family Fortunes, Not The Nine O'Clock News, Powys & Jones ( Welsh TV) plus many radio shows including Grumbleweeds, Huddlines,Weekending and others under the wing of producer Mike Craig in Manchester. He then ventured into ' stand up' as the ' old skool' comedy was replaced by the 'alternative' boys who mainly wrote their own material...although several would, and still do, call James when a ' clean' corporate script is needed. Now resident in the beautiful Forest Of Dean James is much in demand and can hold his own in gigs from the Swansea Dockers Club ( even the chicken in a basket comes out fighting there!)  to the local Women's Institute Xmas do....his comedy is in the Peter Kay narrative style with hilarious stories based around his extended family and his own experiences....  ' I try and get a laugh into every second line......'
