Holly Burn

Holly began writing and performing comedy in February 2007 and since then  has taken her own bizarre style of character comedy to Edinburgh,   appearing  in two very successful one woman shows which are a  hybrid of character, sketch and stand up .

In her 2008 Edinburgh show- HOLLYWOULD...but doesn't think she'll bother- Holly took the audience down the steps of the venue and on a walk down West Nicholson Street to see the shrine and memorial to her dead dog in the window of the PDSA charity shop.

 "Especially impressive"-  The List

"Surreal....I have been a Fringe attendee for nearly twenty years now and yet this is the first time I have experienced a show ending like this."- One 4review

" Holly Burn approaches her comedy with the lightest of hearts and it pays off  in this free-formed silliness. Using a naive, brutalist approach, she breaks all the rules of successful comedy. ..... should be embarrassing, but  hilariously done. The finale, in which she takes the audience out into the street to look at the memorial to said, dead pooch, seems a doddle. The whole thing works because Burn is never apologetic or reticent about her presentation. She positively revels in her own naive charm and lets it be just that.         -The Stage

Her debut show Hello, Holly! (Dir. John Gordillo) was a smash hit at the Pleasance Dome and The Arts Theatre London.

'Wonderfully written one woman sketch show.... A talented young actress who has created a wonderfully varied collection of sketches and characters which had me giggling to myself throughout' - CHortle

 'Genuine acting talent' -The List

. She was TimeOut Critics' Choice 2008: 'Highly talented Holly Burn'

Holly was also host and compare of hugely successful West End sellout character and sketch comedy night Sketch and the City- at The Arts Theatre London. ( Timeout Critics Choice and London Lite- Must See!)  She has recently recorded for Series 3 of ITV's Comedy Cuts (Dir. Cal McCrystal) and played Mary in BBC3's The Wall, appeared in the multi award winning romantic comedy feature film Are You Ready for Love? alongside Ed Byrne and Denise Van Outen and has been busy recording a radio comedy series.

She performed her show at The Latitude Festival and The Arts Theatre - West End , and guested on  Lucy and Des Show Off and many other nights.... she performs throughout the year as much as she can.
