Dan Clark, Adam G Goodwin & Cliff Kelly met at the Edinburgh Festival in 1995. They worked on various projects together but it wasn't until 1997 that they officially formed Electric Eel. In 98 they took their first live show to Edinburgh at the Gilded Balloon. That year they also appeared in 2 episodes of BBC1's THE STAND UP SHOW and performed various characters and sketches in BBC2's COMEDY NATION. In 99 they wrote and performed in STOP THE WORLD, the first comedy show for BBC Choice (now BBC3).
They also wrote and starred in ROY DANCE IS DEAD, a 30 minute special for C4's COMEDY LAB series. Also that year, they took their second full-length live show to Edinburgh at The Pleasance theatre. In 2000 they were commissioned to write and star in their debut series for Channel 4. At the start of 2002 their sitcom, THE ESTATE AGENTS was aired on C4.
In May of that year they appeared in a hugely successful run at The Soho Theatre and then took their third live show to The Pleasance for the Edinburgh festival. In December 2002, Electric Eel landed a commission from Radio 4 to write and record a pilot comedy sketch show. The show, tentatively titled THE ELECTRIC HOTEL, was recorded in March of this year.
