Doug may be the only up & coming stand up comedian on the circuit whose day job is “mentalist”.

Doug’s comedy persona has been described as: Sharp, acerbic, playful, & rude.

This is in stark contrast to his highly successful mind reading act where he has been described as: Smooth, warm, charming & charismatic .

If you ask him very, very nicely he might read your mind at a stand up gig but he is much more likely to say “I can’t read a blank page mate” then continue rant on about topics as diverse as:
Facebook’s role in the Credit Crunch, female masturbatory gestures, rural inbreeding, fun with Simon Cowell and a spike & Austrian TV home improvement shows.

In his less cutting performance mode he has had 14 night sell-out runs of public shows at both London's Barons Court Theatre, and the Jermyn Street Theatre, Piccadilly smashing the former venue's seventeen year box office record in the process.

• BBC One – Two live 10min spots on BBC ONE New Years Live with Natasha Kaplinski & Claire Balding.  The audience of 9.5 million live viewers is a record for any performer of this type in the UK and a worldwide record for live performance.

• BBC3 – Mischief. Together with presenter Becca Wilcox Doug performed a live show and tricked an audience of students into giving up all of their darkest secrets on camera.
