Dan Bland

"A magnetically mournful soul with elegantly written twisted musings" - The List

"The best droll comedian to emerge in years" - thebestof.co.uk

"If you imagine the late Ian Curtis had chosen to do stand-up (rather than join Joy Division) that should give you an idea of Bland's appeal" - bbc.co.uk

Dan Bland is a deadpan comic whose electrifying wit and darkly comic world view have entertained audiences in venues throughout the country. With his rhythmically droll delivery, Dan has been known to hold crowds in a vice-like grip, as they yield to his twisted comic outpourings. As he steadily gains renown for his original and incisive material, Dan continues to earn plaudits as an act whose non-threatening facade scarcely conceals a heart of darkness.

Since his first gig in March 2005, Dan has peddled his comedic wares across the country. Although based in Leeds, his willingness to travel has seen him perform at a range of venues, including the Frog & Bucket (Manchester), the Comedy Store (Manchester), the Other Side (York, Doncaster, Scarborough and Bridlington), Zanzibar (Liverpool), the Caper Club (Sheffield and Rotherham), the Comedy Cafe (London), Downstairs at the King's Head (London) and others too numerous to list.

Dan has also been a finalist in the following competitions:

Funny Bones New Act of the Year (October 2006)

Should I Stay or Should I Go? Champions Special (January 2007)

Manchester Irish Festival Comedian of the Year (March 2007)
