Dan Atkinson

Dan Atkinson is a full-time professional comic in the UK and internationally, with gigs ranging from across Europe to as far afield as the Middle East. He's worked alongside many of the circuit's biggest names and is much in demand across the country for his compering skills and natty
dress sense.

Good humoured and witty, it's when working with the crowd that Dan truly shines, weaving small comic miracles seemingly out of thin air. With an ability to find comedy where it appeared there was none, there's little time for material which is a shame: it's sharp, funny, and there's lots of it. Dan isn¹t political or particularly topical, nor overly clever. He¹s just a shabby bearded chap who always makes people laugh. You¹ll never get the same show twice it¹s genuinely fresh and unpredictable. Full of hope, vigour and vitality, he¹s hopelessly likeable and quite out of touch with real life.

The wealth of live experience has sharpened this foolish fop, and these talents translate easily across platforms: Dan works well on camera, having worked with ITV, BBC 3 (Bodyhits), Endemol and opened a debate with Tony Blair for Channel 4, including a five-minute VT. He¹s also dabbled in radio with work for a few local stations, as well as working on BBC Radio Five Live as a comic commentator on the 2005 election.

Working with corporate clients is another string to the bow; Dan has squirreled away an amount of corporate experience and works best as a host for the evening, working with his improvisational skills to fit any occasion. Experience includes a hosting a live digital interview with
Hollywood Director M Night Shyalaman, hosting music events, festivals, corporate dinners and more. Dan is a particular favourite among the
universities, having hosted Summer/May/Christmas/Graduation Balls at many and being much in demand for Fresher¹s week comedy events.

So if you¹re looking for an MC, an opening or closing act or just some sound cricketing tips, you¹ve come to the right place.

OIf you get a ticket to The Other Side, you are more successful than most of York's population. Tickets for Dan Atkinson¹s comedy club normally sell out within a few days, and, having seen the show, I think I know why.¹ - BBCi

The content is as fresh as it gets. Performing in front of largely the same audiences each week, a stock routine would soon wear thin, but Atkinson knocks out new material at an alarming rate. Having seen him several weeks on the trot I could spot just two gags I had heard before, and yet the quality is consistent with a finely honed set. Professional and unpretentious, he delivers his material with an endearing
wide-eyed "Hey! Guess what!" enthusiasm and it's plain to see why his club is such a hit with both comics and crowds alike.¹ - Funny.co.uk

Shambolic genius Dan steals the show (actual title of piece) '......... but it was the shambolic genius of Dan Atkinson that stole the
show. The elegantly dishevelled host of the Other Side club in York didn't suffer fools gladly with a mixture of scathing put-downs and seemingly
random observations that rarely failed to hit the mark.' - Scarbro Evening News

ODan Atkinson is a very intriguing young weirdo who¹s difficult to pigeonhole and that can only be a good thing... both brave and inventive.... Dan Atkinson might be one of the most surprising undiscovered talents you¹ll see for a while.¹ - Blam magazine

OCompere Dan Atkinson embarrassed us, our sponsors and convinced everyone there was a bomb in the building¹ - Here Magazine
