Benny Harris

Benny hails from Basildon in Essex, the town which brought the world Depeche Mode, Denise Van Outen and Phil Jupitus. In just over 4 months he has managed to become funnier than Depeche Mode. That alone is incredible.

Benny started his stand-up career in late 2005, after gaining a great deal of confidence by reaching the final 20 contestants in the Jimmy Carr Comedy Idol competition.
In a short space of months (approximately 19 weeks) he has managed to support many respected acts around the south coast of England for Mirth Control. Benny has gigged with Rufus Hound, Dave Hadingham and Christian Reilly in front of very large crowds.

His stage presence, confidence and delivery are quickly developing, due to his insane gamble of jumping straight in at the comedy deep end. Off beat ideas, quirky observations and one liners all make up to a solid open mic act that is developing fast.

Benny can be found living the high life on The Isle of Dogs in the East End of London. He is always ready to drive to a remote venue in the name of Comedy. This is providing his car has not been broken into for the fourth time in as many weeks.
