Andy
Hobo
Andy
Hobo has been on the comedy circuit since September 2003. Hes a master of
understatement & has an extremely likable manor on stage. With his unshakable
grin crowds warm to him quickly. Covering a broad range of topics including smoking
cannabis, crap jobs & the environment, his strong twenty-minute set contains
something for everyone. His energy is infectious & he jumps onto the stage
with an axe!
Being more than comfortable with opening, middle & compere
spots, Andy has also closed at some of the smaller clubs on the circuit with ease.
Andy is based in South Shropshire, drives & works regularly with midlands
based comedians.
Promoting
Andy
comperes & promotes Up for Comedy? in Shropshire.

What
They Said
Damion Larkin
Likeable and relaxed stage
presence.
Saw him compere a potentially difficult room with ease.
Zak
Turner (Hilarity House, Kidderminster)
Had a good gig at The Hilarity House.
Opened to a quiet crowd, but he stuck in there and got some laughs.
Dhar
(Mango Chutney, Birmingham)
I booked him at The Mango Chutney night in Birmingham
and he had the crowd from the first minute when he got out his picture of Brains
from the Thunderbirds. Great banter with the crowd and some really funny material,
delivered sharp as a sharp thing!! Will definitely book him for a longer set,
as the crowd loved him.
Barry Pigeon (Aberystwyth)
Andy made the journey
to Gorilla Monsoon's in Aberystwyth and closed the first half of what turned out
to be a really good night well with fine twenty.
Andy's routine is guaranteed
to catch on wherever there are rubbish jobs and marijuana.
On top of that,
a nice guy too. Check out his gig in Bishops Castle.
Paul Tregaskis (Paignton)
He
went on first to a room that had not been warmed up. He could have struggled but
did not and the audience liked his material. He warmed up the room nicely. He
had some sweet punch lines that with time, more material and continued stage time
will lead to him stepping up to the next level. I don't like to reveal other people's
jokes but his joke about having to put his hand up to go toilet when working at
the call centre got a huge laugh.
He worked very hard and got a good result.
He was asked for his autograph too!
Peter Kerr (Hullabaloo Swansea)
This
is the second time I've seen him and am impressed at his style, which is laid-back,
consistently charming and evenly paced, with the audience instantly warming to
his unshakeably cheeky grin. His material is intelligent, perceptive and nicely
leftfield in places and stands out from the usual range of 'what I did when I
was pissed, stoned or shagging' stories that proliferate the circuit. Andy is
sharpening his act, timing and interaction with the audience and just needs a
few more gigs under his belt to become a regular opener. He did a good job for
us in Swansea and is excellent value for money, so hopefully other clubs will
get him booked up quickly!
Dave Powner (Giggle, Wolverhampton)
I've
seen and worked with Andy countless times now, and he always seems to have some
quality new material. He gets better every time, benefiting from the wide variety
of his topics. Extremely comfortable on stage, and holds the joint record for
most appearances at my club, with three.
