Andrea Hubert

Andrea Hubert has been performing stand up comedy since October 2009.

She made the finals of the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year 2010 Competition after less than 30 gigs, beating over 1000 people to gain second place. The same year, she was a semi-finalist in the prestigious So You Think You're Funny competition. In 2011, she won 2nd place in the 2011 Bath New Act of the Year Competition, 2nd place in the Piccadilly Comedy Club New Act competition, was a finalist in the Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year competition, and won the BOOM-Tish New Act of the Year competition.

In 2010 Andrea was commissioned to write a series of comedy sketches for an in-development BBC pilot, for which she also provided voiceovers. She is also the co-author of the weekly blog Hubert and Smith's Poetry Corner for London Is Funny.

Also in 2010, she took her first show, a four-hander called The Comedy Doodle, to Edinburgh. In 2012, she will be performing as part of the Big Value showcase for Just the Tonic at The Caves.

Andrea performs regularly across the London circuit and all across the UK at comedy clubs. She also maintains a successful freelance career as a film journalist (she has never seen Star Wars), Guardian contributor and health-insurance-free semi-professional cake maker.
