Alan McElroy

Alan McElroy is a professional stand-up comedian, MC, actor and writer from Dublin, Ireland.  He entertained on the live TV show, ‘The Café’ on RTE for two years before emigrating to Auckland in 2010.  Later that year, he was voted the Best Newcomer at the New Zealand Comedy Guild Awards and since then, he has become very busy on the pro circuit around NZ.  His debut solo show at the NZ International Comedy Festival 2012 sold out nights and extra shows was added due to demand.  In 2012 he has been the ‘warm up’ comedian for the television shows ‘Would I Lie To You’, ‘7 Days’, ‘Best Bits’ and the live recording on Red Nose Day.  Alan also writes for TV show and has credits on ‘7 Days’ & “7 Days of Sport’ in NZ.

As an actor, he played Ryan O Connor on Shortland Street and features in ‘Six Days’ (2016).  Along with that, he starred in ten adverts since arriving in NZ, including Tui, Xbox, Placemakers, AMI and KFC.  He is a New Zealand resident.
