Ahir Shah

Finalist: So You Think You're Funny? 2008

Ahir Shah is a person. At the time of writing, he is 17 years old, Indian, 5'8'' and worryingly thin, though this is due to genetics rather than an eating disorder. His humour is based around politics, race, religion, drugs and music. He lives in Wembley, north London and enjoys summarising his character into small pithy statements. He is probably not as cheerful as the picture would suggest.

In 2008, Ahir took part in his first Edinburgh Fringe, reaching the finals of So You Think You're Funny? and performing his 20-minute set in a double-hander show with Alex Maple (with some filmed sketches to fill out the hour). The show garnered critical praise and was pleasingly not the great financial drain that one might expect.
